Salary Range: $124,000.00 to $153,000.00

The anticipated salary range represents the estimated base pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, and may vary from the posted range

The Role

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

The candidate will conduct research and assist with the development of components and software required for the modernization of a monitoring and control system aboard the FORD class ships. The applicant should be detail oriented, has a history of delivering high-quality products, technical acumen, an experienced technical writer, analytical and is capable of concisely communicating information to stakeholders. The candidate must be capable of managing multiple projects, facilitating meetings, takes ownership of assigned tasking, innovative, fosters a positive work environment, and provides project status updates to stakeholders.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master's Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience;
Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Nice to Have

Experience with agile, model-based system engineering, cybersecurity, and computer networking.
