Salary Range: $99,000.00 to $122,000.00

The RoleThis position is intended for the submarine advanced electric technology group in Department E11. The incumbent will be responsible for working with a team of NNS, EB, and NNL engineers to develop advanced electric concepts in the areas of generators and motors. This position regularly communicates with internal management as well as internal and external engineers via email, phone, and in person meetings. Strong communication and presentation skills are required for presenting electrical concepts.
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
Must HaveBachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience;
Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Nice to Have- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience developing or maintaining generators and/or electric motors
- Established modeling skills using MATLAB, Simulink, and other FEA software
