Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and develop electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks

  • Resolve technical issues during installations with waterfront personnel and government POCs
  • Review and validate Government Furnished Information with the Engineering/Design team
  • Lead engineering shipchecks to identify and address issues
  • Mentor and advise junior engineers on project tasks

The Role

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Research, develop, and design electrical solutions for system integration of components, systems and equipment onboard US Navy Ships.

Advanced Knowledge of Power/IC and Lighting systems onboard US Navy Ships or general knowledge of several diverse disciplines.

- Perform cognizant engineering liaison with other engineering disciplines and lead shipcheck and drawing development efforts.

- Ability to independently coordinate drawing development efforts with Design, Engineering, and QA teams, resolving issues and answering questions as required.

- Ability to work with waterfront personal and government technical POCs on resolving issues that arise during installations.

- Identify, develop and coordinate drawing changes.

- Review Government Furnished Information and coordinate with Engineering/Design team to validate technical information and insure proper design is accomplished.

- Participate in Shipchecks as lead engineer to insure all issues are identified and resolved.

- Act as an advisor/mentor to others

Must Have

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 2 years of experience

Master of Science degree in Engineering or above from an ABET accredited university and 0 years of experience

Nice to Have

- Knowledge of Power/IC and Lighting for CG 47, LPD 17, LCS 1 and 2, and LHA 6 Classes.

- Experience developing and implementing SCD modifications for complex Power/IC and Lighting systems.

- Lead design efforts to integrate conceptual government furnished information into detail design products.

- Independently perform cognizant engineering liaison with other engineering disciplines and lead shipcheck and drawing development efforts.
