BAE Systems, Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line within the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for an experienced Systems Engineer specializing in supporting our Strategic Missiles segment of the product line. This role will primarily support the supervision of 10 - 12 systems engineers that currently work in support of the THAAD Missile Seeker portfolio. The ideal candidate will be someone that is experienced in developing systems engineering skills for their team, along with assisting them in managing their career objectives and advancement. The candidate will also work with other subject matter experts assisting with the production hardware failure resolution approaches, discussions with our prime customer and the US Government representatives. In addition, this role will be expected to learn and grow their technical knowledge of strategic missiles and the THAAD mission area. This role requires the candidate to be an outgoing, well-connected self-starter with a desire to grow the organization.
Our engineers are members of cross-functional, multi-disciplined teams focused on developing cost-effective systems that meet the needs of our customers. Candidates should be comfortable working with teams of all sizes and enjoy a mix of creative design work, mentoring the next generation of protégés, developing White Papers, presenting internally and externally, and reviewing and endorsing systems engineering aspects of project proposals.
Because of the nature of the THAAD Missile Seeker efforts, this position will primarily be a full time/on-site role, with occasional opportunities to work remotely.

Required Skills and Education
• Hold an active Secret clearance
• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree with 10+ years of experience after the date for the completion of your Bachelor's degree, or 8+ years of experience after the date for the completion of your Master's Degree
• Experience as a lead on one or more successful projects in the defense industry (US Army, US Navy, USAF)
• Hands-on experience in all phases of hardware, from planning and architecture to implementation and testing, through coverage closure
• Ability to drive activities to closure
• Experience working with multidiscipline engineering teams
Preferred Skills and Education
• Experience with missile seeker technology in the Electro Optic/InfraRed domain.
• Previous experience as a people leader/manager
• Well versed in the Systems Engineering Life Cycle and overall program life cycle within the defense industry.
