The Signals Exploitation Capability Group is a cross-functional multi-disciplinary team which provides engineering talent, technical expertise and new technology and research to the BAE Systems Electronic Systems Defense Sector.
This is a dual role where you will serve as player-coach, where some of your time is allocated to being a manager of engineers and part of your time as a technical contributor/lead. This balance enables you to work on programs and manage your team.
Roles and Responsibilities (Manager):
Within the Signals Exploitation Capability Group, you will manage a team of engineers. As the section manager of systems engineers, you will have the following responsibilities: Recruit, retain, train, recognize and develop systems engineers to achieve their highest potential in alignment with the business needs:
- Contribute to the vision and mission of the SECG
- Assign team members as appropriate to programs, IRADs and proposals
- Develop individual and group goals and objectives
- Communicate flow-down company, business area and discipline information
- Mentor careers by development of career and training plans
- Ensure group members adhere to BAE Systems' cultural principals, policies and vision
Roles and Responsibilities (Technical contributor):
As a technical contributor, you will be involved in the full systems lifecycle from requirements, algorithm, software and hardware development through integration and testing. Duties include planning, specification development, coding and testing complex software and/or DSP programs and assisting in other engineering activities such as integration testing, algorithm & data analysis and software troubleshooting.
Due to our need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Skills and EducationRequired Education, Experience, & Skills - Active DoD TS security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in technical fields such as Systems or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science and 10 years of work experience.
- Experience with Systems engineering development of DoD systems
- System design experience and product development (System V diagram)
- Technical team leadership
- Strong skill in people management and team collaboration within systems engineering and across disciplines
- Able to evaluate root cause and timely decision making
- Able to lead a team to adapt to changes effectively
Preferred Skills and EducationPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills - M.S. in related technical field
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Additional technical depth in specific areas of communications waveforms, algorithm development, signal processing, SIGINT systems
- Strong modeling and simulation capabilities to assess various algorithms
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience.
