We are seeking a driven Mobility Engineering Lead responsible for the successful development, integration, and test validation of critical subsystems, including diesel engines, transmissions, final drives, exhaust, air filtration, cooling system components, track systems, driver's controls, and suspension.
What You Will DoYou will manage a team of designers and engineers to resolve production and test issues, including:
- Managing Engineering Support In Production (ESIP) and investigating Test Incident Reports (TIR).
- Closing Failure Analysis and Corrective Action Reports (FACARs).
- Researching Vendor Information Requests (VIR) and processing Technical Data Package (TDP) changes.
- Tracking co-user parts and coordinating common part updates across programs.
- Synchronizing software updates with vendors and partner programs.
You will analyze incomplete information, apply root cause methodologies to define problems, and adapt problem-solving approaches to variable situations. Additionally, you will lead a team providing onsite support at BAE Systems production and US Government test sites, requiring occasional travel.
You will also oversee the First Article Test (FAT), including reports for the Test Readiness Review, Test Plan, and Test Report. As the Mobility IPT lead, you will provide subject matter expertise to the Logistics team for technical manual reviews, specialty tool reviews, and level of repair analysis.
Additional Responsibilities:- Manage engineering design, development, analysis, test, and product assurance for assigned projects to meet cost, quality, performance, and schedule requirements.
- Develop and implement project plans, including detailed task definitions, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and control budgets and schedules, reporting on technical and financial status.
- Resolve conflicts between subsystems or disciplines to optimize system performance, quality, and reliability.
- Coordinate and lead a team of 2-10 engineers, design staff, and analysts.
- Prepare and present technical results and recommendations to customers.
- Lead technical analysis, testing, and simulations to solve complex engineering problems using specialized equipment or computer modeling.
- Prepare technical and cost portions of proposals within your area of expertise.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices and trends to advise senior management on new developments.

Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline plus 6 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or a PhD and 2 years of experience.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams.
- Experience in the design and integration of mobility systems (diesel engines, transmissions, final drives, driveline hardware, exhaust, air filtration, cooling system components, hydrostatic drives, tracks, and suspension).
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with customers and suppliers.
- Ability to review, interpret, and direct mobility or automotive-type performance analysis.
- Ability to resolve engineering problems involving conflicting design, contractual, policy, or technical requirements across functional areas.
- Strong ability to prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations to customers, industry leaders, and senior management.
- This role requires regular presence in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The incumbent must be able to access and safely navigate production areas which may include climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working in confined spaces. Must also be able to comply with all requirements including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy.
Preferred Skills and Education- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with design of combat vehicles.
- Working knowledge of the CREO CAD software.
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
- Experience resolving complex inter-subsystem production issues.
- Working knowledge of relevant military and commercial design and drawing standards.
- Experience with automotive or military cooling system analysis and sizing.
- Experience leading complex structured trade studies for mobility components such diesel engines, transmissions, final drives, driveline hardware, exhaust, air filtration, cooling system components, hydrostatic drives, track systems, and suspension components.
