Full Job Description
We are looking for an Energy Transition Champion, Utility Segment to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to Sr Director Energy Transition Champion for the utility segment. This position will work onsite at Bloom's headquarters in San Jose, CA. This position will require 50% travel to client locations. Role and Responsibilities: The Energy Transition Champion, Utility Segment is part of the organization that provides technical advisory service to customers to enable them to effectively evaluate Bloom’s technology to solve their energy needs.  This role focuses on the utility segment, primarily including investor-owned utilities, public utilities and independent power producers in the US and Canada.   Advising customers in this manner requires knowledge of Bloom’s technology capabilities and configurations, knowledge of different power markets and regulations, knowledge of the customer’s business model, and knowledge of the technology alternatives considered by customers. The ET team collaborates closely with the sales team to develop a pipeline of opportunities and has the responsibility to develop and define the Bloom technology configuration from initial positioning with the customer through to the commercial bid submission. Essential responsibilities 3 Proactively educate industry stakeholders, including customers, system operators, EPCs, OE’s and consultants about Bloom technology, and promote and position Bloom technologies with these groups 3 Understand Energy/Power markets, policy and regulations and customer business models that impact the customer value proposition and customer decisions. 3 Evaluate Bloom’s competitiveness against alternative technologies and OEMs throughout the bid process. 3 Provide technical expertise to Sales and Commercial operations team in collaboratively building winning deal and product strategies 3 Educate customers to understand and convince them to recognize the full economic value that Bloom solutions provide. Gather and analyze competitive feedback to improve our understanding of value differentiation in the eyes of our customers. 3 Collect Voice of Customer (VoC) and Voice of Market (VoM) regarding Bloom’s solutions and use this information to collaborate with Bloom Commercial, Engineering and Services groups to develop new product and commercial offerings to expand the value and application of Bloom’s solutions 3 Work with Marketing and the CTO office to develop and improve region and segment specific collateral to communicate the value of our offerings to customers and stakeholders 3 Folllow Bloom’s internal processes to facilitate pipeline and opportunity communication, decision making and tracking Skills and Experience: Qualifications and desired characteristics 3 Minimum Bachelors degree in an engineering field from an accredited university or college; Masters degree preferred. 3 Minimum 5 years of experience of power generation technology, e.g. Gas Turbines, reciprocating engines, Battery storage, wind and solar 3 Experience using knowledge of energy markets, customer business models and technology characteristics to evaluate economic performance and competitiveness and to articulate the value proposition to customers 3 Understanding of the impact of different commercial, technical and financial terms of a proposal on customer value. 3 Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate the value proposition to customers 3 Strong skills in the areas of collaboration, communication and critical thinking 3 Ability to build and leverage personal networks across matrix organizations to accomplish goals 3 Frequent travel will be required Bloom Energy is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. $118,100.00 - $169,900.00
