The OpportunityAs a Litigation Attorney in our Employment Department, you will fight for our clients and win in worker rights violation cases against large corporations represented by big law firms. Attorneys are expected to take significant responsibility in litigating their own docket of cases while at the same time honing their skills through mentorship by our award-winning attorneys.
Accountable for- Manage a caseload of plaintiff-side employment litigation matters.
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other substantive legal filings.
- Conduct and defend depositions, including party and witness depositions.
- Handle all phases of written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
- Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, trial, and appeal as necessary.
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to effectively manage cases.
- Communicate with clients and provide regular updates regarding case status and strategy.
- Mentor junior attorneys and support staff, as appropriate.
Qualifications- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Washington. Admission in Oregon is a plus.
- At least four years of experience litigating Wage & Hour class actions under the Washington Minimum Wage Act (MWA) and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) collective actions
- Experience litigating Washington Law Against Discrimination (WLAD) claims, including discrimination, retaliation, disability accommodation, and harassment
- Employee misclassification and independent contractor litigation
- Class certification, collective action certification, and complex employment litigation.
- Strong litigation skills, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, and mediation.
- Trial experience or substantial trial preparation experience is highly preferred.
Compensation- Compensation range based on experience: $140,000 - $200,000
