Job Summary:

The Employee Relations Supervisor provides day-to-day supervision, coaching, and guidance to the Employee Relations team while ensuring employee concerns, investigations, disciplinary matters, and workplace issues are addressed fairly, consistently, and in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws.

The Employee Relations Supervisor serves as a key advisor to the Workforce Services team, site Industrial Relations representatives, Legal Counsel and Project Leadership teams on employee relations matters. The role will be pivotal in supporting the resolution of workplace concerns through effective case management, investigations, coaching, and conflict resolution whilst identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Major Responsibilities:

Employee Relations leadership:
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Employee Relations professionals, providing guidance on case management, investigations, and workplace issue resolution in line with applicable federal and state legislation.
  • Assign and monitor employee relations cases to ensure timely completion and adherence to established standards.
  • Partner with Workforce Services, Industrial Relations, and Project leadership to implement early intervention programs to address employee concerns and support positive workforce outcomes.
  • Promote consistent application of company policies, procedures, work rules, and employee relations practices.
  • Assist in the implementation of employee relations programs, initiatives, and engagement activities.

Employee Relations cases and investigations:
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex investigations involving alleged misconduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, policy violations, workplace conflicts, and other employee concerns.
  • Ensure investigations are conducted impartially, professionally, and in compliance with company requirements and applicable laws.
  • Review investigation findings, disciplinary recommendations, and corrective actions for consistency and quality.
  • Monitor employee relations cases through the case management system and ensure appropriate documentation is maintained.
  • Support project leadership in handling employee discipline, performance-related concerns, and separation decisions.

Support and Continuous Improvement:
  • Support the collection and analysis of employee relations metrics, trends, and case data of employee relations activities and investigations to help support site proactive intervention campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities to improve employee relations processes, consistency, and effectiveness.
  • Identify emerging workplace issues and recommend proactive solutions to minimize disruptions and employee concerns.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with employment laws and company policies.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant employee relations, labor relations or human resources experience or 12-14 years of relevant employee relations, labor relations or human resources work experience in lieu of degree.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including EEOC, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, anti-harassment, discrimination, and retaliation requirements.
  • Strong understanding of employee discipline, performance management, and separation processes.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong written communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to influence and build productive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
