Description:

Senior Account Manager

This is a hybrid position, based out of our Fort Lauderdale/or Miami (Doral) office, that may require in person client facing meetings.

As a Senior Account Manager on the Employee Health & Benefits team, you will manage strategic planning, renewal & marketing, compliance, open enrolment, implementation and employee communication efforts for all assigned clients. You will collaborate with the Producer and/or Account Executive to monitor and support the new business and renewal process as well as prepare marketing information or provide required information to a marketing team member. This role requires you to build and maintain client and carrier

relationships by phone, email and in person. You will need to stay organized, prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and proactively plan to meet deadlines and get in front of potential issues.

As our SeniorAccount Manager on the Employee Benefits team, you will:
  • Provide analysis and assist in the recommendation of coverage needs to present to client.
  • Mentor, guide and serve as a resource for team members on highly complex accounts.
  • Support the Account Executive with pulling financial and claims reporting and analysis (e.g., monthly claims, high-cost claimant analysis) and communicate results and implications to clients.
  • Develop and deliver contribution modelling and budget scenarios to support client decision-making.
  • Lead, document and complete renewal implementation calls and paperwork with clients. Hold carriers accountable for accuracy, timelines, and service expectations.
  • Independently produce accurate and timely materials and consistently audit work product to minimize errors.
  • Responsible for maintaining client information on the agency management system.
  • Navigate our resources and leverage our carrier partners to advocate for and solve problems for clients, providing a great client experience and support our retention efforts.
  • Be knowledgeable of applicable coverages, carrier guidelines, underwriting and legislative changes, to maintain relationships with clients and carrier representatives.
  • Assist assigned clients and teammates with service questions related to administration, billing, claims issues and problem solving, upon request.
  • Project manage Employee Navigator or Plan Source plan builds for implementation and/or open enrolment, ensuring accuracy of plan rules, rates and required updates are completed for successful transmission of electronic files feeds and integrations.
  • Counsel clients on compliance deadlines related to Form 5500 filings, COBRA rate updates, ACA Reporting requirement for clients, preparation of and delivery of Annual. Wrap Documents and Annual Notices, Medicare Part D credibility notice and CMS Disclosure Emails.
  • Keep abreast of new products available for clients and current legislative changes.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as requested by management.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active and current Florida 2-15 insurance license.
  • 8+ years of experience working in the health insurance industry; agency experience preferred.
  • Experience with self-funded accounts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Detail oriented with strong time management and client relations skills; including excellent communication and presentation skills with service orientation, cooperative nature, and tactfulness to resolve client and company problems.


These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • HIA or CEBS designation
  • Experience with Employee Navigator, EPIC, BenefitPoint, and/or ImageRight
  • Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
