Job Description

Emerging risks shape the future of the insurance industry.

As an Emerging Issues Research Analyst, you'll play a vital role in helping property/casualty insurers understand that future.

We're looking for an experienced p/c industry professional with excellent presentation and research skills-someone who understands how the insurance product development, underwriting, and claims process works and can clearly articulate deeply researched, often technical subjects to a professional audience.

The Emerging Issues Research Analyst will help identify emerging risks that would be relevant to a p/c industry audience and then contextualize their impact across lines of p/c insurance. The Analyst must be able to see the big picture-how an issue, trend, technology, legal, or regulatory development might impact or inform product development across multiple lines of p/c business. They must be able to draw on academic research and other rigorous, technical sources of information to better understand and contextualize those impacts. And then they must be capable of stitching this deep research together into a presentation or written report with a clear and compelling narrative to drive more informed decision making.

As a member of Verisk's Core Lines Services division, the Analyst will also work closely with subject matter experts across the Verisk enterprise to ensure their expertise and views are reflected in the material presented to customers.

The ideal candidate would have a p/c insurance industry background in underwriting, claims, or forms development. They must be an excellent communicator who's comfortable speaking to audiences in person or virtually, as well as a thorough researcher, and skilled in PowerPoint. They must be a team player, able to quickly establish close working relationships with various internal Verisk stakeholders and external customers.

Responsibilities

Your role will include the following:
  • Researching and delivering presentations on emerging risks for a p/c insurance audience-in 1:1 customer workshops (on-site or virtual); at webinars; at industry conferences.
