Dorsey is seeking an experienced Corporate Attorney with one to five years of experience to provide support to our Northern California Emerging Companies Practice in our Palo Alto office.
Dorsey is seeking an experienced Corporate Attorney to provide support to our Northern California Emerging Companies Practice in our Palo Alto office. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work alongside the partners and engage with their existing and new clients, as well as be a part of a dynamic regional team of attorneys and a wider international corporate practice. Clients include public and private companies across a broad range of matters including venture capital and private equity financings, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and strategic technology transactions.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a drive to succeed and an enthusiasm to engage with clients. It is important that the successful candidate has the ability to work as part of a team in addition to being confident working under his/her own initiative. Working with this team is both dynamic and fast paced. We are also seeking candidates with good presentation and client handling skills, and a real desire to develop their career at Dorsey.
Qualified candidates will have:
- One to five years of experience with venture capital financing transactions;
- Additional experience in any of the following areas: mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, partnerships/LLCs, commercial transactions;
- California bar admission or the ability to become admitted in California;
- Familiarity with cap table platforms such as Carta;
- Experience with Microsoft Office with an advanced knowledge of Excel;
- Strong quantitative and communication skills; and
- Top academic credentials.
For California applicants only, the salary range for this position is $205,000 - $275,000. Pay is determined based on depth of experience in the practice area. The individual hired for this position may have the option of electing a lower billable-hours track with a proportional reduction in salary. Associates are eligible to participate in Dorsey's associate bonus program, subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
