Responsibilities

  • Manage the Clinical Services team during shifts, including task assignments and resource sharing.
  • Communicate with the Clinical Manager about team performance and scheduling issues.
  • Train and mentor new team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address patient and client needs effectively.
  • Respond to client concerns and emergency situations promptly as a first-level responder.
  • Participate in management meetings to contribute to departmental goals and strategies.
  • Address and mitigate employee issues and process challenges during shifts.

We are looking for: Emergency Veterinary Clinical Supervisor

Proposed work schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Never a dull moment in the ER! Are you someone who likes to be constantly moving from one thing to another? Our Emergency team is the perfect place for technicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment, can shift gears quickly and handle the stress of critical situations with ease. Every day is different and there's never the same case twice!

What you'll do:

  • Escalates issues to Clinical Manager


  • Functions as a scheduled Clinical Services team member within department(s)


  • Collaborates with other departments regarding patient and client needs


  • Prioritizes and organizes workflows for shift


  • Directly manages Clinical Services team members while on shift which includes but is not limited to:


  • Manages early call-ins, early departures, call-offs, sharing of resources, breaks and lunches for team members


  • Assigns team member responsibilities per shift


  • Addresses process or employee issues during their shift


  • Communicates schedule changes, performance concerns and shift issues to the Clinical Manager routinely


  • Serves as first level responder to client concerns and drug escalations


  • Trains and mentors new team members


  • Provides input to Clinical Manager on team member performance evaluations


  • Participates in on-call responsibilities


  • Participates in management or administrative meeting(s) routinely


Who you are:

  • communication skills Prior veterinary experience required, previous surgery experience desired


  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)


  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary


  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment


  • Excellent verbal and written
