Rate of Pay: $123,802 to $150,000 per year

Duties: Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to/empathizing with their concerns. Communicate with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs. Examine animals to detect and determine the nature of diseases or injuries. Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, performing surgery, or other therapies while minimizing patient stress and discomfort. Participating in outpatient case care, emergency case triage, and monitoring hospitalized ER and specialty patients overnight. Triage multiple patients at once, focus on client education, perform emergency procedures and surgery, and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory results. Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols. Stay current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine. Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service. Present a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the public.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.

Position requires:

1. Medical Equipment: SPO2, Oscillometric/Doppler BP, ECG, Capnography, Tonometry, and interpreting findings using a refractometer; and

2. Surgical Techniques: Laceration repair, wound management, bandaging, trocharization, and centeses (thoraco-, abdomino-, pericardio-).

License Requirements: Must be eligible for state licensure.
