Full Job Description
The Emergency Management Specialist contributes to all phases of the emergency management cycle, including mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery, and continuity planning. The ideal candidate has experience in emergency management, healthcare preparedness, business continuity, public safety, or a related field, along with a working knowledge of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS), Incident Command System (ICS), Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS), and National Incident Management System (NIMS). As a member of a highly collaborative and forward-thinking team, you will help develop innovative solutions to emerging preparedness challenges, leverage technology to enhance situational awareness and operational readiness, evaluate and implement new systems and tools, and contribute to the development of best practices that influence healthcare emergency management across the organization and beyond. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside leaders in the field while helping shape the future of preparedness in a complex healthcare environment. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining emergency operations and continuity plans; coordinating training, exercises, and readiness initiatives; supporting emergency response and recovery operations; conducting hazard and risk assessments; facilitating multidisciplinary preparedness projects; preparing after-action reports and improvement plans; and ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and grant requirements. The Emergency Management Specialist plays a critical role in strengthening UCLA Health's ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. Salary Range: $82,434-171,779/year
