This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Emergency Management Project Manager to join our Emergency Management Team. This position will work out of our Tallahassee, FL office. Be involved with our Federal Programs Team and a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact
  • Supporting Emergency Management (preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery) projects, operations, and emergency management staff.
  • Support response missions by deploying in response to natural disasters. Deployment site location could be in any 50 US states or US territory.
  • Support Emergency Management strategic business development pursuits.
  • Support Strategic Initiatives within the Emergency Management Practice.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.


Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience may be taken into consideration in lieu of education.
  • 7-10 years experience in Emergency/Disaster/Crisis management.
  • Ability to deploy with little to no advance notice (24-48 hours), and up to 30 days at a time. While deployed, there is the potential to work 8-12 hours/day up to 7 days a week.
  • Advanced knowledge of Emergency management principles, including but not limited to Emergency Preparedness, Mitigation, Response and Recovery operations.
  • Proven leadership, staff supervision and management skills.
  • Travel to client/project sites in support of disaster preparedness and response projects.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Solid Microsoft 365 skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or similar/related concentration.
  • Prior experience with the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) registration.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) registration.
  • Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) registration.
  • Previous experience in government entities and/or military.
