LG's Emerging Technology Team

LG Emerging Technology team is the catalyst for technological innovation within LG's CTO organization. Located in Silicon Valley, we drive excellence across CTO organizations and business units by pioneering in select emerging technology areas. As the Center of Excellence (CoE), we define and shape key technology domains, setting strategic directions that foster impactful internal and external partnerships to deliver measurable business value.

Our Emerging Technology team is looking for an experienced Embodied AI Researcher, located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. This is a hybrid position. The Embodied AI Engineer will contribute to the research and development of robotic foundation models, task generalization, embodied AI, physical intelligence AI, and physics simulation. Your contribution will have a significant impact on our research projects and product roadmaps.

What You'll Do:
  • Work with cross-functional teams to push advanced research on Embodied AI topics (robotic foundation model, task planning, imitation learning)
  • Collaborate with HQ and 3rd-party research labs for technical integration of robotics products into LG ecosystems.
  • Invent and improve paradigms for embodied intelligence, including digital agents, physics simulation, and self-supervised methods by leveraging a variety of modalities (images, video, text, audio, tactile, etc.)
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Perform fundamental and applied research to push the scientific and technological frontiers of embodied artificial intelligence and physical intelligence


Education and Skills We'd Like You To Have:
  • Master's or PhD degree in CS/Robotics/EE or similar field.
  • 0~3 years of industry experience in robotic foundation models, perception, planning, control systems, etc.
  • Strong research experience in robotic foundation models or related field
  • Good understanding of recent development trends in robotic foundation model, vision-language-action models, perception models, imitation learning, etc.
  • Familiarity with policy learning methods (e.g., reward shaping and curriculum learning) and physics platforms (e.g., Genesis, Omniverse/Cosmos)
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills to effectively represent the derived results and technical concepts of developed methods
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams

Compensation: In addition to the base salary range listed below, this role also includes a performance-based incentive bonus plan.

$112,000-$164,000 USD
