Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented Embedded Systems Reverse Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will provide customer support within an experienced technical team while analyzing embedded software, firmware, and electronic hardware. You will help characterize complex systems, solve challenging technical problems, and deliver solutions that support critical customer missions.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Analyzing embedded systems software, firmware, and hardware to characterize complex systems and determine their functionality.

  • Working directly with customers and technical team members to understand mission requirements and develop effective solutions.

  • Reverse engineering embedded systems and solving challenging technical problems through creative, methodical analysis.

  • Using hardware and software analysis techniques to identify system behavior, interfaces, and functionality.

  • Drafting clear, accurate technical reports describing system characteristics, including hardware, firmware, software, and communications functionality.

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and independently executing assigned technical tasks as required.

Required Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S citizen.

  • Candidate must have an active Secret Clearance and be willing and able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, and at least 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with or understanding of embedded processor assembly languages, such as ARM and TI DSP assembly.

  • Experience with reverse engineering and binary analysis tools, such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, radare2, and Binary Ninja.

  • Understanding of serial data protocols, including SPI, I2C, UART, and related embedded communications interfaces.

  • Experience analyzing or designing digital circuits.

  • Experience reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.

  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and independently when required.

  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality results.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to customers and team members.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Experience with or understanding of embedded operating systems and real-time operating systems.

  • Experience performing embedded systems analysis, including hardware, firmware, software, and interface characterization.

  • Working knowledge of high-level programming languages, such as C, C++, and Python.

  • Experience analyzing or designing analog circuits.

  • Experience using JTAG debuggers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other electronic test equipment.

  • Virtualization and emulation experience using tools such as QEMU and Renode.

  • FPGA development experience.

  • Experience managing or leading technical teams and coordinating technical tasks across multiple contributors.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $181,100.00
