What You'll Do

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will participate in the development of different components of firmware for moving and fixed camera products. You will be part of a firmware team and work on new camera development projects, maintain released firmware, support factory and customer issues.

This role is hybrid with 3 days in-office per week. Candidates must live in a commutable distance to Lancaster, PA site. Travel Expectation, 10% (Domestic and International). Position may require early morning or late-night meetings with development teams in Asia & Europe.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Strategic
  • Develop firmware for different subcomponents from concept through final release of the firmware.
  • Collaborate and work with different firmware teams across the globe for development.
  • Work with team leads to develop software architectures that meet system-level requirements for performance, serviceability and time-to-market.
  • Participate in software design and code reviews.

Operational
  • Support lifecycle management of firmware efforts including field complaint investigations.
  • Maintain firmware supporting multiple product variants and large feature set.
  • Interact with software teams at different locations in Europe and Asia for different aspects of firmware development.
  • Interact with Factory for production firmware integration.
  • Participate actively in Agile method of working including PI & Sprint planning, retrospectives, continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop and validate prototypes through simulation.
  • Help and sometimes participate in software system testing efforts.

People
  • Mentor and support the development of early-career engineers and interns.
  • Mentor the software test team for design of test cases, reproduction of issues, and verification of fixes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure system-level integration and success.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, including products released to series production.
  • Demonstrated experience developing software for mechatronic and or computer vision systems integrating mechanical and electronic hardware.
  • Experience as a software engineer, planning, directing and mentoring activities of junior colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex technical topics into actionable decisions.
  • Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.

Preferred:
  • Programming - C, C++, ability to use Python, familiarity with OO design.
  • Embedded - knowledge and experience with real time operating systems, bootloaders, device drivers, Experience with STM32s.
  • Linux - Kernel, device drivers, build system, docker containers, file system, experience with Yocto, Device Trees, etc.
  • Knowledge and some experience with Computer Vision (OpenCV etc.)
  • Hardware - I2C, SPI, Flash programming, ability to debug embedded software issues with hardware tools such as oscilloscope.
  • Tools - Git, DevOps tools such as Jira, Jenkins, Artifactory etc.


Additional Information

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $82,000-$105,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.

In addition to base salary, full-time employees are eligible to participate in Keenfinity Group's (US) Health and Welfare Benefit Plans-including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance-as well as the company's 401(k) plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the respective plan documents. Full-time employees are eligible to participate in Keenfinity Group's paid time off and sick leave programs in accordance with applicable policies.
