Job Title: Embedded Linux Software Engineer
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months Contract (40 hours per week)

Position Summary:
Our major client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Embedded Linux Software Engineering Contractor to work with our Applied Research and Technology (ART) Microelectronics Technology team.
Your work will contribute to the development of cutting-edge defense solutions across Mission Systems, leveraging your expertise developing and supporting embedded Linux Board Support Package (BSP) and driver development.
Job Responsibilities:
Participate in Agile team meetings and planning activities, as required to support programs covered by this work plan
Contribute to the design, coding, testing, delivery and ongoing support for embedded Linux software systems in areas such as build toolchain, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, device drivers, and BSP for a wide variety of hardware boards
Participate in root cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware-software issues.
Management of change request and task assignments through Jira
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
A minimum of 3 years professional experience with embedded Linux device drivers
Proficiency with embedded C/C++
Experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python)
Experience with board bring-up and target hardware integration
Experience with debugging and root cause investigations using hardware schematics and tools such as logic analyzer and Wireshark
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work in a collaborative environment
Experience with GIT and SVN version control systems
Experience packaging custom Linux distribution with Buildroot
Development experience Agile methodologies and DevSecOps
