Job DutiesThe Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Eligibility Policy Manager, MAGI Covered Groups in the Eligibility Policy and Outreach Division.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Serve as expert consultant to the Governor, the Secretary of Health and Human Resources, the Department Director, and Management Team on Medicaid and FAMIS (Family Access to Medical Insurance Security) eligibility policy, with a focus on coverage for children, pregnant individuals, and non-aged adults.
Ensure that policymakers have full analysis and knowledge of policy options available under Medicaid and other federal programs related to beneficiary entitlements, benefit limitations, methods of service delivery and financing.
Provide management, oversight and strategic direction to the Eligibility Policy Unit.
The business needs for this position have in office requirements to include but are not limited to attending in-person meetings and attending internal and external stakeholder's meetings.

Minimum QualificationsCompetitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:
Considerable knowledge of Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) eligibility and enrollment requirements.
Considerable experience with independent project management.
Considerable experience implementing Medicaid/CHIP eligibility policy training.
Provides technical guidance regarding the modification and improvement of the Eligibility system.
Considerable experience in developing guidance documents for complex programs.
Considerable experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
Experience analyzing, interpreting and applying complex federal and state law regulations and guidance.
Experience meeting deadlines.
Considerable experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders on large projects.
Considerable experience managing staff.
Considerable experience with Virginia's Medicaid/FAMIS eligibility and enrollment systems.
Knowledge of national and state policies dictated by H.R. 1 impacting the provision of Medicaid and FAMIS.
