Position Overview:

The Elementary Speech Language Pathologist provides assessment, intervention, consultation, and support services to elementary students with communication needs. This position works collaboratively with educators, families, therapists, and student support teams to ensure students receive the services and support necessary for academic and social success.

Position Requirements:

  • Assess speech, language, social cognition, and assistive technology needs of students.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, student progress, and required reports.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, therapists, and support staff regarding student needs and services.
  • Participate in MTSS and RTI processes as a member of the Student Support Team.
  • Utilize technology and evidence-based practices to support student learning and communication development.
  • Plan and deliver engaging instructional and therapeutic activities.
  • Participate in professional development and ongoing learning opportunities.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students, families, and colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of student success

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move quickly throughout the building and campus.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, and sitting.
