Full Job Description
The Opportunity:
Develop and oversee a comprehensive physical education program, including health, sexual education, and mindfulness, for our Harlem Elementary School. Introduce Elementary School students to developmentally appropriate health and physical education programs that allow them to gain confidence and engage in activities that promote healthy, active lifestyles throughout their lives.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, and mindfulness
• Design, plan, and implement lessons based on school district/state/national standards
• Create appealing lessons that implement a variety of methodologies
• Measure student progress to encourage the mastery of state/national standards
• Ensure accommodations and modifications are made for the growth and development of all students
• Ensure that the physical education environment is clean, safe and constructive for all students
• Guide students in maintaining acceptable standards of behavior in the gym or classroom environment
• Maintain records of individual student achievement and evaluate students on a continuous basis
• Prepare for classes and maintain written preparation for units throughout the year
• Demonstrate the use of proven, research-based strategies for effective classroom management, lesson planning, active student engagement, and instructional delivery
• Show a diligent effort to consistently address the behavioral and physical needs of individuals students
• Assist as needed with any school based duties i.e. Lunch, recess, arrival or dismissal

Salary Range: $74,500-$97,000+ plusbased on years of experience
