DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronic Warfare Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
The Electronic Warfare Test Engineer to the Electronic Warfare System (EWS) Lead and is responsible for integration, test, and technical execution of Electronic Warfare systems across laboratory, test bed, and planeside environments. This role includes ownership of integration and test activities, supporting system development, verification, production, and flight test.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility.There is NO remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 50% may be required.
The selected Electronic Warfare Test Engineer will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing integration and test efforts, including development and validation of test procedures, supporting system-level verification, and ensuring successful progression through program milestones. They must also demonstrate strong technical understanding in RF spectrum operations, antenna systems, and multi-sensor integration, as well as familiarity with related disciplines such as signal processing, communications systems, and data collection/analysis. As well as having effective communication skills and the ability to clearly present technical approaches, findings, and recommendations to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities will include:
Collaborate closely with technical leadership on system requirements development and flow down, subsystem integration, and performance verification, including laboratory and flight test activities. This role will also involve coordinating with suppliers, reviewing technical deliverables, and supporting contract execution to ensure program success.
Support multiple stages of the aircraft system lifecycle, including design support, system integration, verification and validation, production support, and flight test operations.
Ensuring robust and maintainable configurations, supporting airworthiness activities, and contributing to system-level test events.
Participate in internal program reviews, customer interactions, and technical exchange meetings to provide status updates and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
Collaborating in a cross-functional team environment
Support integration and test activities in lab and field environments
Travel 50% of the time
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related
Experience with integration and test activities, including test planning, execution, and data analysis
Experience with RF systems and test equipment, including antenna systems, RF cabling, and electromagnetic spectrum operations
Experience supporting lab-based and/or field test environments, including data collection and system verification
Familiarity with multi-sensor systems, communications links (RF, Wi-Fi, fiber, or optical), and system interoperability
Must have an active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Active DoD Top Secret clearance
Experience serving as a Responsible Engineer (RE) or leading integration and test efforts
Experience developing and validating test procedures, ATPs, or verification plans
Experience supporting system-level verification (e.g., CVIDs, requirement closures, or similar processes)
Experience with supplier coordination, SDRLs, or technical contract support
Experience with antenna systems, phased arrays, or antenna pattern measurements
Experience with lab stand-up, test facility operations, or development of CONOPs
Experience with aircraft integration, flight test operations, or test range environments
Familiarity with DOORs, CPLM/NX, or similar engineering tools
Experience in providing technical leadership or mentoring to junior engineers
Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
