Full Job Description
Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent
Shift: 40 hours per week, this position will take place Monday - Friday, day shift with occasional part day Saturday if required.

Candidates should be flexible to travel to the Cayuga, ON facility as needed.

Job Summary

This person would be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, such as fully and partially automated process lines, grow lighting and all other luminaires, and pump/pump controls such as variable frequency drives. Assure work is in accordance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and other building codes which apply. Have basic understanding of Priva (or other greenhouse control systems) would be beneficial.

Role and Responsibilities
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using mechanical lift systems, and hand/power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Install circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
• Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
• Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
• Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motors.
• Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, roofs and power equipment to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Run/bend conduit inside designated partitions, walls or other concealed areas, and pull wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits.
• Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications.
• Perform physical tasks, such as digging trenches and moving/lifting weighted materials and equipment.
• Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
• Provide emergency power assistance to Powerhouse Management by operating generators, and back-up lighting

Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Minimum 3 years proven experience as an electrician or similar role.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
• Excellent skills in analyzing and diagnosing electrical issues and the ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office

Pay Rate: CAD $40.00 per hour DOE
