Full Job Description
Modern Packaging is seeking a skilled Electrician to join its Production team in building and supporting advanced packaging automation systems. This role involves reading electrical schematics, building and wiring control panels, installing field wiring, and troubleshooting equipment to ensure optimal performance. The Electrician will collaborate with engineering teams to debug systems, update electrical drawings, and support both electrical and mechanical installation and maintenance, contributing to high-quality, efficient operations.
Modern Packaging, a ProMach division, is excited to welcome a new Electrician to our Production team. As our Electrician, you will read electrical schematics, build control panels, wire industrial machines, install field wiring, debug and troubleshoot systems, and redline electrical prints.

Does this work interest you?
  • Build Electrical Control Panels
  • Terminate Panels; terminate all low and high-voltage wires back to the main panel(s) and/or junction boxes
  • Install Field Wiring; this includes mounting of various sensor types (proximity sensors, photo eye sensors, laser through beam sensors, vision systems)
  • Troubleshoot Systems using various tools and instruments to find and fix electrical problems with the assistance of Controls Engineers
  • Redline Electrical Prints, catching and documenting mistakes in electrical drawings sets, wiring the system correctly, and then documenting the mistakes so that the Engineers can correct the final drawing set
  • Assist in mechanical assembly and installation
  • Assist with facilities and equipment related maintenance and installation

  • Previous work experience in dealing with AC motors, motor starters, disconnects, and PLC I/O wiring required
  • Experience in industrial electrical panel and machine wiring
  • Ability to read Electrical Drawings; thorough understanding of electricity, both low voltage (PLC inputs, outputs) and high-voltage, various symbols and circuitry, and power
  • Proven ability to read and understand Electrical Engineering drawing sets, understand dimensions, and knowledge of electricity and safe practices when working on high-voltage systems
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics created on AutoCAD.
  • Possess a strong understanding of safe electrical practices and can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Must be able to read and interpret complete Electrical Engineering Drawing sets, both high and low voltage (PLC I/O, Ethernet and Safety Circuits)
  • Strong understanding of grounding and bonding for noise suppression
  • Deep understanding of wire sizes for industrial machine wiring (480Vac, 3 phase and 230Vac, 3 phase)
  • Hands-on experience reading/interpreting bill of materials (BOMs)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet timelines on deliverables
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions

Education
  • Technical/other training or better in Electronics Technology -Preferred

    Experience: 2 years Electrical and 2 years Manufacturing- preferred
