Job Summary:

Zel Technologies has an immediate opening an Electrical Systems Engineer Unmanned Systems to lead and support the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced electrical and electronics systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide electrical engineering support for UxS advanced technology development, including the development of system architectures and requirements in accordance with applicable Navy standards.
  • Perform system and subsystem analyses, design, and trade off studies, as well as draft and review related documentation including electrical and mechanical schematics, test plans and procedures, technical data packages, requirements traceability and verification.
  • Support testing and troubleshooting in the laboratory and field including at-sea environments.
  • Support the development of vehicle control, power control, power conversion, and power distribution systems, including interface control to input sources and output loads.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on the integration of various primary/secondary energy source technologies including battery cells, air independent fuel cells, and renewable ocean energy harvesters.


Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Local and CONUS/ OCONUS travel as required.
  • Must have a valid tourist passport or ability to obtain.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the development and implementation of electrical or electronics systems.
  • In lieu of degree, fourteen (14) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Must have an active SECRET clearance.
  • Successful background and drug screening check.


Preferred Requirements:

  • Five (5) years of experience in supporting unmanned systems programs (UxS), to include one or more of the following: operations, maintenance, design, research, development, experimentation, and/or testing.
