Full Job Description
Power Innovations International, part of the LiteOn Group, is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead the design and integration of next-generation energy solutions, including EV charging systems, bidirectional V2H/V2X technologies, and microgrid power-conversion products. This is a highly hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys taking products from concept to production and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
As a Systems Engineer, you will own complete systems-level electrical designs, develop and validate prototypes, support manufacturing, and ensure products meet safety, performance, and certification requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Architect complete AC and DC power systems, including block diagrams, power distribution architectures, and interconnect designs.
  • Design and document wiring systems, cable assemblies, grounding strategies, and over current protection schemes.
  • Create system schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Build, wire, power-up, test, and troubleshoot prototype and pilot units in a laboratory environment.
  • Develop and execute system validation testing, including continuity, hi-pot, functional, and power-on testing.
  • Support manufacturing teams by resolving build issues and driving corrective actions.
  • Manage BOMs, engineering changes, electrical drawings, and DFMEA documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards and certification requirements.
  • Drive design-for-manufacturing, design-for-assembly, and cost optimization initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 3+ years of experience designing and integrating power electronics, EV charging systems, or similar power hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, conductor sizing, grounding methods, and over current protection.
  • Proven experience owning engineering deliverables from concept through production release.
  • Hands-on experience building, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and prototypes.
  • Ability to create clear electrical documentation, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and experience producing engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of GD&T, BOM management, and revision control processes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EV charging, bidirectional V2G/V2H systems, or microgrid technologies.
  • Familiarity with harness design tools such as RapidHarness or electrical CAD platforms including EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Knowledge of UL 2202, UL 2231, UL 1741, UL 9741, and related safety standards.
  • Experience with DFMEA, safety-critical designs, UL certification programs, or manufacturing transfer/onshoring projects.
  • Mechanical design capabilities and cross-disciplinary engineering experience.
