Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical control systems within a high-volume wire and cable manufacturing environment. This position provides hands-on production support while leading automation initiatives that improve safety, reliability, quality, and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will possess strong PLC programming and industrial controls expertise, demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills, and be capable of working independently with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating with operations, maintenance, engineering, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical and controls support to manufacturing operations to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and automation systems.
  • Design, program, modify, and optimize machine control systems.
  • Lead automation and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support equipment commissioning and startup.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain electrical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Train maintenance and production personnel.


Required Technical Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Schneider PLC platforms.
  • Experience with ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Siemens S7/TIA Portal, and Schneider Modicon.
  • Knowledge of FactoryTalk View, WinCC, VFDs, servo systems, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP, and industrial networking.


Manufacturing Experience
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on wire and cable manufacturing environment.
  • Provide production line electrical troubleshooting support.
  • Experience with extrusion, continuous process equipment, or industrial automation preferred.


Safety Responsibilities
  • Promote a strong safety culture.
  • Support LOTO, machine guarding, and functional safety systems.
  • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
