Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily execution of various maintenance activities. The successful candidate must possess an electrical background, mechanical aptitude, and competent computer skills. This role requires strong leadership abilities, initiative-taking, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Foster a safe work environment and promote a safety-minded workforce. The supervisor is responsible for conducting required safety training, monitoring safety compliance, and conducting periodic audits.
• Assign and direct preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
• Procure required materials, tools, and equipment to support crew activities.
• Communicate effectively and in a timely manner to concerned parties regarding equipment repair status, downtime incurred, potential safety concerns or safety incidents that may occur.
• Communicate with direct reports details of tasks to which they are assigned.
• Provide technical expertise and support to direct reports and other crafts as needed.
• Review completed preventive maintenance reports and write follow-up work orders as needed. Revise preventive maintenance tasks to meet changing needs or to improve effectiveness.
• Work directly with vendors, contractors, maintenance, and purchasing to plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work.
• Develop and continuously improve the preventative, predictive, and condition-based maintenance monitoring programs.
• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System to effectively manage work.
• Identify, design, and implement changes/upgrades which will increase the productivity or reliability of the equipment or coordinate such activities.
• Work with Maintenance and Engineering to plan for shutdowns and other project work.
• Coordinate with purchasing and vendors to ensure parts availability.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Possess excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
• Capable of independently making sound decisions through problem-solving, ambiguity, and change.
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure and within time constraints.
• Ability to read and understand technical correspondence, memos, instructions, and reports.
• Effective communicator both orally and written. Must be able to convey information with the level of detail according to the needs of the audience.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical installation methods, troubleshooting techniques, and system maintenance.
• Ability to identify and solve electrical problems efficiently while making informed decisions.
• Ability to lead and manage teams, including mentoring and developing employees' skills and knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal/people skills; results driven; self-starter; able to initiate and be willing to hold others accountable for achieving objectives.
• The candidate must be self-directed and possess strong leadership skills.
EDUCATION:
• BS desirable. AS, High school diploma or GED and 5+ years of related experience
EXPERIENCE:
• The successful candidate has a strong electrical background but also possesses a high level of mechanical ability.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• To perform this job successfully, the individual must have a strong technical background and familiarity with equipment and challenges associated with heavy industry.
• The electrical supervisor will be expected to share in weekend and overtime responsibilities to meet the needs of the facility.
WORK CONDITIONS:
• Environment: The role primarily operates in an industrial and office environment, requiring frequent movement between different areas of the facility. The industrial setting involves exposure to noise, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures.
• Physical Demands: The position may require standing, walking, and moving around the facility for extended periods. Occasional lifting of moderate weights and operating standard office equipment is also required.
• Safety: Strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory to ensure a safe working environment. Compliance with all safety requirements and procedures is essential.
HOURS: 2nd SHIFT (2pm-10pm)
