As an Electrical Superintendent, you'll be the driving force behind the successful execution of all electrical operations on-site. From planning and coordination to hands-on oversight, you'll ensure every aspect of the electrical discipline is delivered on time, within budget, and to exact specifications. Your role will flex depending on the client and project scale-sometimes leading a small team, other times orchestrating large-scale efforts with broader authority. Responsibilities
- Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
- Manage a combination of two or more Leadmen, Foremen and Superintendent I, and up to 60 or more employees
- Supervise overall direction, coordination, performance and evaluation of sub-contractors
- Must be able to perform all the duties of a Level I Superintendent and Foreman
- Directly supervise, coordinate and delegate activities of Superintendent(s), Foreman(men) and/or construction trade workers in one or more occupations
- Coordinate activities of multiple subcontractors
- Interact with client in order to keep the project on schedule and under budget
- Maintain a well-organized receiving system
- Prepare accurate two week look-ahead
- Perform all types of job layouts with the latest technology
- Communicate effectively to employees in oral and written form
- Perform minor estimating
- Understand and use schedules
- Complete all required project reports and maintain appropriate documentation on all facets of the project
- Ensure that all operators are certified and maintain all equipment on the project
- Assist Human Resources and Superintendent by interviewing, hiring, and training, appraising work performance and addressing complaints of employees in the field
- Manage, lead direct reports, and mentor.
SUPERVISORY:- Supervise up to five foremen and lead other superintendents and crews consisting of up to 100 or more employees.
Qualifications
- Five (5) years' experience/knowledge or combination of experience and education in a supervisory role
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:- Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
- When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
- Set a personal example of safe behavior.
- Organize, instruct and supervise construction crews and sub-contractors in all areas of construction
- Knowledge of all construction tools, machinery methods and procedures
- Must be able to forecast and monitor costs of project
- Understanding of construction methods, scheduling and blueprint reading
- The ability to demonstrate leadership, lead by example, motivate workers and communicate with workers, subordinates and clients
- Computer experience with Microsoft office, Email and Internet preferred
- Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:- Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
- May need to maintain physical strength and stamina; Use arms, hands, and legs fully; Push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks.
- Stamina to perform this task repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals.
- Uncontrolled environmental conditions: Constant change in weather and site conditions.
- This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
- Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
- May need to work at heights and must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements; must be able to wear and utilize all safety equipment required for work at heights.
- Evaluate information based on measurable standards; and see details in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings.
