Full Job Description

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for leading and overseeing electrical construction activities at project sites, with a strong focus on safety, quality, compliance, and contractor coordination. This role ensures that all electrical work is executed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and local regulations while supporting efficient site operations and strong cross-functional communication. This position requires 100% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Promote, support, and champion a positive safety culture with safety as the highest priority on site.

  • Ensure electrical construction contractors maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment and comply with project safety requirements and safe work practices.

  • Conduct regular Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) audits, participate in safety walks, monitor corrective actions, and issue and audit permits to work in accordance with site procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, local regulations, project standards, and company specifications.

  • Supervise and coordinate on-site electrical construction activities, providing technical direction, guidance, and support to contractor teams.

  • Manage interfaces between contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and site teams to ensure smooth coordination of construction activities and temporary site power and data networks.

  • Review method statements and risk assessments for technical accuracy and safety considerations and support strategies to improve contractor performance and interface coordination.

  • Monitor the execution of work to ensure project quality standards are met, support inspections, and oversee contractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for compliance.

  • Attend daily and weekly coordination meetings, assist with system walkdowns, track project progress, and provide detailed reporting on contractor performance, productivity, and work status.

  • Identify potential constructability concerns, support resolution of coordination issues across disciplines, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or commercial electrical construction supervision, coordination, or related field roles.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

  • Ability and willingness to travel 100% for project assignments.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices, safety standards, permit-to-work processes, and applicable codes and regulations.

  • Experience supervising contractors and coordinating work across multiple stakeholders in an active construction environment.

  • Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard project reporting tools.

  • Ability to monitor quality requirements, support inspections, and maintain accurate progress and performance reporting.
