As an Electrical Staff Design Engineer within our Aircraft Group, you'll play a key technical leadership role in developing next-generation flight control and motor control electronics for military aviation platforms.

In this senior-level position, you'll apply deep technical expertise and sound engineering judgment to architect, design, and qualify complex electrohydraulic, electromechanical, and electropneumatic systems. • Independently define and implement new technical approaches to complex engineering problems.
  • Develop and mature system architectures and requirements in collaboration with Systems Engineering and other disciplines.
  • Generate technical concepts and ensure requirements compliance for proposals supporting new aircraft platforms.
  • Design flight control electronics including high-power motor inverters, gate drives, power electronics, feedback/control circuits, microprocessors, FPGAs, firmware, and algorithms.
  • Apply Model-Based Design tools and methods (MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, first-order hand calculations).
  • Ensure designs meet cost, reliability, schedule, and manufacturability objectives.
  • Design electronics to meet EMI/EMC and environmental requirements.
  • Lead Validation & Verification (V&V) efforts and oversee qualification testing.
  • Define requirements for electronics test equipment and author development and qualification test procedures.
  • Mentor and coach engineers across the electronics organization.
  • Promote strong engineering processes, technical rigor, and continuous improvement.

Here's what you'll typically bring with you:
  • At least a BS in Electrical Engineering, MS preferred
  • 15+ years of applicable circuit card design experience
  • 5+ years of technical team leadership experience
  • Experience in the design, analysis and development of closed loop motor drives.
  • Leadership with strong organizational skills and a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Preferably experience with requirement flow down, actuator controllers, sensor interfaces, commercial and military standards (RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, and RTCA/DO-254 standards), Qualification, and Certification
