Job Description

Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance PM, Electrical to join our team in support of the Data Center Construction team. The ideal individual will have prior experience supporting large-scale construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage, coordinate, and collaborate with project stakeholders.
  • Effective communication across our internal team to ensure efficiency and a consistent delivery to the client.
  • Analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities (such as switchgear delivery, factory testing, and system energization) to avoid schedule slip.
  • Verify that effective project governance, rigorous QA/QC processes, pre-commissioning checklists, and specialized systems are utilized.
  • Ensure application of industry best practices, testing standards (such as NETA or IEEE), and safety protocols on all electrical projects.
  • Production of formal project status reports and other reports as required.
  • Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved electrical design standards, single-line diagrams, and local/national electrical codes are being applied correctly.
  • Manage the interface and delivery timelines between all equipment suppliers (e.g., transformers, UPS systems, switchgear) through monthly trackers and weekly technical reviews.
  • Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Forecast, track, and update key project milestones, critical path items, and testing phases.
  • Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteria.
  • Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
  • Review of submittals and RFIs
  • Client management - assist in developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities.
  • Strategic Thinking - provides advice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients' objectives and business objectives.
  • Knowledge management - ensure that key information and learnings generated from each project is captured.
  • Process improvement - Identify ways to improve internal systems, pre-functional checklists, and QA/QC procedures.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, electrcial engineering, or applicable bachelor's degree and or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant project management experience, specifically working with electrical systems in the built environment.
  • Strong organizational and management skills - ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader team.
  • Background working in design or construction with a mechanical or BMS controls experience.
  • AND/OR Background working in a vendor equipment factory supporting quality control processes of mechanical equipment.
  • AND/OR Background working in commissioning of electrcial systems and equipment in mission critical data centers.
  • Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/E's, equipment submittals and RFIs.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, Project, Smartsheets, and other construction project management tools
