Responsibilities

  • Review and ensure accuracy in construction estimates and CTCs
  • Evaluate vendor contracts and manage change orders
  • Guide training efforts for new and existing project staff
  • Assess project staffing efficiency according to budgetary constraints.

Full Job Description
Project Director - Prism Electric

Responsibilities:
  • Project Directors will report directly to the Executive Vice President of Construction Management, attend a weekly group meeting to discuss your current projects, potential new projects and any areas of concern.
  • Manage as Project Director the Project Managers, Project Engineers and office staffing within the umbrella of the group assigned in accordance with Prism standards and procedures. While maintaining duties and responsibilities for specifically assigned projects.
  • Attend all Handoff and Review meetings for projects assigned to your group.
  • Organize project specific weekly staff meetings with each project assigned within your specific group, ensure that meeting minutes are maintained and distributed accordingly.
  • Work with E.V.P. Construction Management to maintain current policies, procedures, standards.
  • Review CTCs with the Project Managers to ensure that the CTC's are completed correctly and in a timely manner. Attend all CTCs for projects assigned to your group.
  • Review and assist in the Construction Estimate process to ensure they are developed per Prism Standards.
  • Review subcontracts and work orders for new projects.
  • Review Change orders to ensure Prism minimum standards are being followed, both to the GC/Owner and from GC/Owner.
  • Review all Major Purchases (bulk buys, blanket pricing, major equipment). Major Purchase orders, bulk buys, Unique Work Orders and Purchase Orders over$100,000 will be forwarded to E.V.P. of Construction Management for approval.
  • Review all vendor or subcontractor exceptions to any of Prism's Terms and Conditions, forward to E.V.P. of Construction Management for additional review and approval of changes.
  • Review budget codes for new project set-up and change orders.
  • Train or assist in training new or current Project Managers and Project Engineers on policies or procedures and implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Assess the Project Mangers methods, project staffing, workload, responsibilities to ensure a productive, efficient work environment and that the project staffing is in accordance with the projects estimated budgets.
  • Review and ensure that proper guidelines and procedures are followed when working with the BIM Department.
  • Ensure that proper notifications are being sent as related to schedule impacts, vendors or equipment delays.
  • Perform all evaluations of Project Management Staffing assigned to your group, approve PTO and assist Upper Management in project assignments.
  • Perform duties in accordance with General Superintendent, QA/QC and Safety Managers.
  • The overall responsibility of the position is to guide, assist and verify that all of Prism's Policies and Procedures as they pertain to the Management of Construction projects are met.


Requirements:
  • Proven people management, process management, and performance management skills.
  • Knowledge of financial software, accounting practices, change order pricing, and billings.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong budget tracking, labor tracking, and scheduling skills.
  • Proficiency in information analyzation and budget setup.
