Job Summary:

Nova Biomedical is seeking a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering Department at the Norwood, MA facility. This role will provide continuous improvement and sustaining engineering support for manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting complex electrical and systems issues. The Manufacturing Electrical Engineer will collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Operations, and R&D teams to support existing products, improve manufacturing processes, and help bring new products into the manufacturing environment. Experience within medical device manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and assistance to Production, Quality, and Purchasing departments.
  • Test, debug, and improve electro-mechanical components associated with Nova Biomedical instruments.
  • Design electro-mechanical fixtures to support production-line improvements.
  • Participate in design-failure investigations that may impact risk assessments, hazard analyses, and FMEAs.
  • Lead activities related to supply chain support and end-of-life components
  • Process engineering change orders for cable and harness drawings, schematics, manuals, procedures, and component changes; update documentation using the company's change management system.
  • Identify and specify required equipment and subsystems to improve new and existing manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Electrical, Software, and Firmware departments to resolve technical issues and support product improvements.
  • Create and modify schematics and printed circuit boards using Altium and/or Cadence OrCAD software packages.
  • Support regulatory compliance, EMI, and safety testing activities.
  • Manage integration of software, firmware, electrical, and mechanical systems, including understanding system components, functions, and cross-functional interactions.
  • Support programming activities using tools or languages such as Visual Basic, VBA, C, Python, and serial communications protocols including RS-232, I2C, and SPI, as needed.
  • Multi-task effectively in a time-sensitive production environment.
  • Work on-site due to the hands-on manufacturing support requirements of the role.

Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience recommended.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to quality.
  • High proficiency in creating, interpreting, modifying, and evaluating schematics and system diagrams.
  • Previous experience with motors, controllers, power supplies, and displays.
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve equipment and production-related problems.
  • Experience with Altium and/or Cadence OrCAD software preferred.
  • Experience supporting software, firmware, electrical, and mechanical system integration preferred.
  • Programming experience with Visual Basic, VBA, C, Python, or similar tools is beneficial.
  • Experience with serial communications protocols such as RS-232, I2C, and SPI is beneficial.
  • Medical device manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift and carry up to [25• 50] pounds as required.
  • Comfort with performing repetitive physical tasks.
  • Able to bend, reach, stoop, or climb as needed.

Targeted Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000/year
