The Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector reports directly to the Chief/Construction Engineer. The Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector's duties and responsibilities require that they will be both knowledgeable and experienced in all phases of pipeline construction and inspection.

Primary Functions:

  • Performs duties as designated by the Chief/Construction Engineer in accordance with job requirements outlined in the assigned activity, uphold NEC and ISA codes and the Client Company codes and Standards.
  • Advise Construction Engineer of all decisions, problems, and possible alternatives in the assigned activities, and suggestions as to solutions to field problems.
  • Assures that all construction activities are in accordance with Client specification codes and standards and that the latest specifications as stated in the National Electrical Code are strictly adhered to.
  • Assure that all safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Receive and thoroughly inspect all mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment and assure that it arrives in acceptable condition.
  • Assure that all Calibration equipment was recently calibrated to national standards.
  • Become thoroughly familiar with all electrical and instrumentation hook-ups and their functions.
  • Record and maintain accurate records concerning damage to equipment and take steps to repair or replace, if necessary.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience as an Electrical Inspector of which two years are of general pipeline or plant experience with an emphasis in electrical power and control system construction methods.
  • Essential to possess a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and ISA standards.
  • Has proven judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret piping and instrumentation drawings pertaining to the construction project.
