Roles and Responsibilities
Provide independent field quality assurance for electrical construction and installation activities on projects, ensuring work is executed safely and complies with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable electrical codes-delivering reliable, operable assets ready for commissioning and handover.
You are the site-based electrical inspection focal for assigned project scopes. You verify contractor and vendor electrical work, witness testing, raise non-conformances, and support punch-list closure-working closely with Construction, QA/QC, Commissioning, and Operations to achieve right-first-time delivery.
What You'll be Doing
• Perform routine and hold-point inspections in line with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for cables, terminations, earthing/bonding, trays, lighting, motors, switchgear, MCCs, and packaged equipment
• Verify materials and installation methods match specifications, datasheets, and approved drawings (IFC, wiring diagrams, SLDs, layouts)
• Witness and review test results (IR/megger, continuity, earth resistance, torque checks, functional checks, SAT) and ensure records are complete
• Confirm hazardous area requirements are met (Ex equipment, glands, sealing, labeling, segregation, and documentation)
• Conduct walkdowns, identify defects, raise NCRs/quality observations, and track corrective actions to closure
• Support pre-commissioning/commissioning including energization readiness, system completions, and turnover dossier preparation
• Participate in toolbox talks, PTW/LOTO compliance checks, and interface coordination to manage SIMOPS and safe execution
• Provide daily inspection reports, progress updates, and inputs to look-ahead planning and constraint removal
Key Accountabilities
• HSSE leadership: stop-work authority, strict adherence to PTW/LOTO and electrical safety practices, proactive hazard identification
• Quality assurance: verify installations meet code/specification requirements and are fit-for-purpose with minimal rework
• Documentation integrity: accurate inspection/test records, redlines/as-builts, and complete turnover packages for handover
• Client/punch control: timely identification, escalation, and closure verification of defects and punch items
• Stakeholder alignment: effective coordination with contractors, vendors, construction supervisors, commissioning, and operations
• Compliance: ensure work complies with applicable standards (e.g., IEC/IEEE/NEC where relevant), client specifications, and local regulations
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Requirements: • Technical diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent trade/technical qualification
• Typically 5+ years' experience inspecting electrical works on industrial, energy, or large infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices, testing methods, and interpretation of drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with QA/QC systems (ITPs, hold points, MDRs, NCRs, punch management) and commissioning readiness
• Working knowledge of electrical safety, PTW/LOTO, and hazardous area requirements (IECEx/ATEX concepts); CompEx/Ex training is an advantage
• Confident communicator with clear, factual reporting and strong contractor/stakeholder management
• Proficient with common digital tools (Excel/Word) and inspection reporting systems

[email protected] Pay Range: The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $95.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
