Job Summary:GDI Ainsworth Vancouver/Surrey Branches is seeking an experienced Chargehand to join our Electrical team to assist with our growing Tenant Improvement (TI) work in the downtown core of Vancouver BC. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can supervise small-to-medium crews, coordinate closely with Project Managers, and maintain safe, efficient, high-quality installations in fast-paced commercial environments. The ideal candidate should have 3 years' experience as Chargehand, and FSR-B credential is considered an asset or ability and desire to work towards this goal in the future.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and lead a crew of electricians on TI projects
- Plan daily/weekly work activities to meet project schedules and milestones
- Coordinate with Project Managers, General Contractors, and other trades
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and site instructions accurately
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards, site-specific safety requirements, and the Canadian Electrical Code
- Manage material requirements, site logistics, and productivity
- Conduct site safety meetings and enforce company safety policies
- Track progress, document site conditions, and report updates to management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site
Qualifications- Red Seal Journey Electrician (or provincial equivalent)
- Proven experience as aChargehand on commercial projects
- Strong knowledge ofconstruction environments (tight access, active buildings, coordination challenges)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications.
- Experience with Fire Alarms is an asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of scheduling, productivity, and cost awareness
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- FSR qualification preferred
- Class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract
