Electrical Estimator to develop accurate, detailed estimates for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects while improving the processes and tools that support competitive execution. This role is ideally based in Scottsdale, AZ or Bedminster, NJ, with remote options available within the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
What You Will Do- Refine electrical estimating processes and templates to improve accuracy and efficiency, working cross-functionally to capture best construction practices, productivity data, and crew resource requirements for solar (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) construction.
- Develop, refine, and maintain project cost estimates aligned with RFP requirements for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects, from conceptual estimates through advanced design packages.
- Maintain a database of applicable means and methods, components, and associated productivity rates.
- Collaborate with business development, engineering, procurement, operations, and project delivery teams to develop winning bid strategies and optimize project costs.
- Identify project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies to enhance estimate reliability and competitiveness.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, client discussions, and leadership updates.
- Conduct site visits as needed and prepare detailed reports that improve estimate accuracy and project planning .
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)- Experience in large electrical commercial, renewable energy, utility-scale solar construction , or related fields.
- Knowledge of cost estimating best practices and estimating tools or software , such as Accubid, InEight, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with takeoff software (Bluebeam) and ability to interpret complex project documentation.
- Strong understanding of project complexities and construction management principles.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and refine estimating processes.
What Will Put You Ahead- 5+ years of experience estimating utility-scale renewable energy construction projects.
- 5+ years of experience estimating underground electrical construction projects at 34.5kV and above .
- In-depth knowledge of solar and battery storage systems.
- Knowledge and experience estimating substation and HV transmission line construction.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
For this role, we anticipate paying $105,000 - $150,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
