Full Job Description
This role is responsible for independently developing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical service work, commercial construction projects, and mission-critical/data center environments. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong understanding of electrical construction means and methods.

The Estimator II will play a critical role in supporting both high-volume service operations and structured bid work while partnering closely with operations, field leadership, vendors, and project teams to ensure estimates align with real-world execution strategies and company profitability goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Independently perform electrical quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications
• Prepare complete estimates for service work, quoted jobs, maintenance agreements, and commercial construction projects
• Develop labor estimates based on installation methods, site conditions, and productivity expectations
• Build detailed material lists and pricing using vendor quotes and historical data
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor quotes
• Identify scope gaps, overlaps, and constructability concerns before bid submission
• Attend pre-bid meetings and jobsite walkthroughs
• Coordinate directly with project managers, service managers, superintendents, and field leadership
• Support project turnover by communicating estimate assumptions and labor strategies to operations
• Maintain pricing databases, vendor relationships, and estimating benchmarks
• Manage multiple bids and rapid-turn service requests in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
• 6-10+ years of electrical estimating experience
• Strong background in commercial electrical construction and/or service operations
• Experience estimating mission-critical or data center projects preferred
• Ability to read and interpret full drawing sets, specifications, and one-line diagrams
• Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam/PlanSwift, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
• Field leadership experience such as Foreman or Superintendent
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license strongly preferred
• OSHA 30 certification required
• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent field/estimating experience
