Full Job Description
Your Impact:

Our 3D printers are full of analog and digital electronics, sensors, displays, and motion systems. They are connected devices driven by complex embedded Firmware. The designs need to be produced in high volumes, have bulletproof electronics, and the right balance of performance and cost. Our electrical engineers work on the entire life cycle of the products they create - from the first whiteboard sketch to the final ECO for their completed assemblies. We work quickly to prototype, test, and iterate, while collaborating closely with dozens of other engineers, spanning multiple disciplines across the company.

If you're looking to lead and develop a rapidly growing team of talented electrical engineers as we create next-generation digital fabrication technology, then we want you as our Manager of Electrical Engineering.

What You'll Do:
  • Spend most of your time being an active contributor in product development
  • Help the team navigate design tradeoffs and ship the industry's best products
  • Constantly question product assumptions and help scope electrical engineering work to a finely focused edge, where only the work that is critical to customer success is pursued
  • Drive the team to hit program milestones, provide input to program schedules, actively work with cross functional leaders to develop products more efficiently
  • Hire the best engineers and then help them reach their highest potential
  • Continuously improve the results and outputs of the electrical engineering function
  • Influence product strategy
  • Influence how Hardware Engineering functions holistically

About You:
  • Want to build the best team in the 3D printing industry
  • Know how to help engineers reach their highest potential
  • An expert in the design and production of complex electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of embedded systems and code
  • Have shipped multiple products, taking them from concept thru production
  • Able to communicate fluidly across technical domains
  • Crave ownership and responsibility, comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
  • Ready to dive into unfamiliar territory and problem-solve like crazy
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset and know how to tie technical work to customer value
  • Are impatient with inertia and know how to block and tackle for your team
  • Never satisfied with the status quo
  • Will do whatever it takes to get the job done

Our Benefits & Perks:
  • Robust equity program to build future wealth through RSUs
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision)
  • 401K matching and access to financial advisors
  • Generous paid Parental Leave (up to 16 weeks)
  • Tenure-based paid Sabbatical Leave (up to 6 weeks)
  • Flexible Out of Office Plan - Take time when you need it
  • Ample on-site parking & pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Healthy on-site lunches, snacks, beverages, & treats
  • Regular sponsored professional development opportunities
  • Many opt-in culture events across our diverse community
  • And of course... unlimited 3D prints
