Position Summary

The Electrical Engineering Lead is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components across assigned projects. This role provides technical leadership and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, regulatory, and quality standards while staying on schedule and within budget.

The Electrical Engineering Lead collaborates cross-functionally with mechanical and manufacturing engineering teams, as well as project management and manufacturing, to deliver integrated solutions from concept through production. This individual serves as the primary technical authority on electrical engineering matters, driving design reviews, resolving complex technical issues, and establishing best practices, standards, and processes for the engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems, circuits, and components (schematics, PCB layout, power distribution, control systems, etc.)
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to electrical engineers
  • Review and approve designs, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and compliance with industry standards
  • Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and technical risk for electrical engineering deliverables
  • Interface with suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to ensure design integration and manufacturability
  • Support testing, validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of electrical systems
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to processes, tools, and designs

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent related work experience
  • 7-10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, with prior leadership or mentoring experience
  • Strong knowledge of circuit design, power systems, embedded systems, or controls (HED and electrical systems related to upfitting mobile equipment a plus)
  • Proficiency with design/simulation tools as well as developing test equipment
  • Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
