Description

Markon is seeking an Electrical Engineering Drafter to support the Naval Nuclear Laboratory’s Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project at the Bettis site. The PPTT is a multi-site organization engaged in the design, production, testing, and delivery of advanced training simulators supporting the safety and reliability of the Navy’s submarine and aircraft fleet.

 

NOTE: This position requires regular onsite work at the Bettis location and may be performed remotely up to 15% of the time. An active DOE L clearance is required (Or equivilent DoD secret and above) and includes some travel to vendors and shipyards.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and update electrical schematics and engineering drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software to depict equipment and systems.
  • Create and revise detailed and assembly drawings from conceptual layouts and sketches.
  • Develop drawings in accordance with established drafting standards using 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Prepare lists of material and other supporting drafting documentation.
  • Perform drafting activities based on verbal and written direction from engineering personnel.
  • Support electrical engineering and design activities for the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project.
  • Research assigned projects independently when required.
  • Consult with product developers to acquire necessary subject-matter knowledge.
  • Apply knowledge of current drafting and design technologies in support of engineering activities.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Must have an active DOE L clearance to be considered (or an active secret or above clearance).
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Design and Drafting Technology or a related electrical design field, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Design and Drafting Technology or a related electrical design field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience as an Electrical Engineer.

Desired:

  • Proficiency performing electrical engineering drafting.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards and techniques.
  • Experience creating or reviewing electrical engineering designs based on approved technical requirements.
  • Proficiency with engineering software, including SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, and/or AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Knowledge or proficiency involving low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Knowledge or proficiency involving audiovisual or telecommunications systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Salary RangeUSD $100,000.00 - USD $127,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
