Full Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support Veterans Administration projects. This role involves overseeing electrical engineering aspects related to construction, design/build, and facilities management within complex federal healthcare projects. The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience working on federal government projects, demonstrating technical expertise and excellent project coordination skills.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.


  • Experience providing construction management oversight of electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communications).


  • Experience reviewing electrical submittals for compliance with contract documents, codes, and VA standards.


  • Ability to track and resolve RFIs and coordinate field issues with project teams.


  • Experience performing field inspections and identifying/documenting non-conforming work.


  • Ability to monitor construction schedules and identify impacts related to electrical scope and sequencing.


  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and healthcare facility requirements.


  • Ability to support commissioning, change order reviews, and basic cost/schedule analyses.


  • Eligibility to obtain VA background clearance and PIV credentials.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project electrical engineering requirements and objectives.


  • Review and align project schedules, work plans, and deadlines to ensure compliance with federal standards.


  • Monitor construction activities onsite to verify adherence to electrical design, codes, security considerations, and safety standards.


  • Coordinate all phases of electrical engineering within project life cycle, including design, procurement, and construction.


  • Assist Contracting Officers and Contracting Officer Representatives with acquisition planning, technical evaluations, and project administration.


  • Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOW), market research documentation, and sole source justifications as necessary.


  • Provide technical expertise and project management support, ensuring compliance with federal directives and record-keeping requirements.


  • Maintain liaison with government agencies, external partners, and contractors for efficient project delivery.


  • Stay current with local, state, and federal regulations applicable to Veterans Administration projects.
