Full Job Description
Meta Reality Labs is seeking a an experienced Electrical Engineer to help define the future of augmented and virtual reality hardware. In this role, you will set the long-term electrical architecture strategy for next-generation wearable devices, AI glasses, and wearables, driving innovation across power delivery, mixed-signal design, and system-level electrical integration. You will operate at the intersection of cutting-edge consumer electronics and spatial computing, shaping the electrical foundations that enable immersive human experiences at scale.

Responsibilities

Define and drive the long-term electrical architecture roadmap for AI glasses and wearable devices, including power management, mixed-signal subsystems, and high-speed digital interfaces
• Lead system-level electrical design decisions across multiple concurrent hardware programs, balancing performance, power efficiency, thermal constraints, and form factor requirements unique to wearable and spatial computing devices
• Establish electrical engineering standards, design methodologies, and review processes adopted across the Reality Labs hardware organization
• Partner with silicon, mechanical, firmware, and systems engineering teams to co-define platform-level requirements and resolve cross-disciplinary electrical integration challenges
• Evaluate and select enabling technologies, components, and reference architectures for next-generation AR glasses and VR headset platforms
• Lead bring-up, characterization, and root-cause analysis of complex electrical failures across prototype and pre-production wearable hardware
• Represent electrical engineering in executive-level technical reviews, communicating architectural trade-offs and program risks to cross-functional leadership
• Identify and resolve systemic electrical reliability, EMI/EMC, and signal integrity challenges across the wearable device portfolio
• Mentor and develop other engineers across the electrical engineering organization, elevating technical craft and promoting rigorous design practice
• Engage with external partners, ODMs, and component suppliers to influence roadmaps and secure differentiated capabilities for Meta's wearable hardware platforms

Minimum Qualifications
• 12+ years of experience in electrical engineering for consumer electronics, wearables, or similarly constrained portable hardware products
• Experience defining electrical system architecture across power management, mixed-signal design, high-speed interfaces (e.g., USB, PCIe, MIPI, LPDDR), and RF coexistence in compact form-factor devices
• Experience leading electrical design from concept through mass production, including schematic design, PCB layout review, bring-up, and DVT/PVT validation
• Experience driving cross-functional technical alignment across silicon, mechanical, firmware, and systems engineering disciplines
• Experience communicating complex electrical architecture decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders at the executive level

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with electrical design for AI glasses, wearables, or other head-worn wearable devices with stringent power, thermal, and size constraints
• Experience with electrical reliability engineering, failure mode analysis, and qualification methodologies for consumer wearable hardware
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Experience with wireless subsystem integration including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and UWB coexistence in wearable platforms
• Experience influencing external silicon or component supplier roadmaps to meet differentiated product requirements
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
