Job Overview

Hubbell is seeking an Electrical Engineer that will oversee application assessment, proposal, design and documentation of high-quality custom communication systems to meet customer specifications. Additionally, this person will handle applications of moderate complexity level working independently or higher complexity level working with a Senior Engineer.

A Day In The Life

  • Evaluate customer specifications.
  • Determine feasibility of system integration and custom product design.
  • Supply preliminary material/labor cost estimates.
  • Attend project meetings as required.
  • Generate production bills of material for custom products.
  • Produce fabrication drawings and wiring diagrams for custom products.
  • Develop step-by-step test procedures for custom products.
  • Generate Installation, Operation and Maintenance documents for custom products / systems.
  • Generate project specific documentation per vendor requirements.
  • Provide technical support for procurement of components as needed to address lead-time and obsolescence issues.
  • Provide technical support during production of custom products
  • Implement in-process design changes as required.
  • Provide technical support during testing and troubleshooting of custom products.
  • Prepare Factory Acceptance Test Procedures.
  • Design/Assemble Factory Acceptance Testing systems.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests with client.
  • Answer project related customer inquiries.

  • BSEE or BSEET degree required
  • Required to stand; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Experience with test equipment and measurement methodologies for electrical systems

Experience with designing and testing for regulatory requirements (UL, CSA, FCC, etc.)

Experience with C/C++ and Python preferred.
