Position Summary

This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplined environment on a variety of project types and scales. As an electrical engineer you will be responsible for the design of building and site electrical systems. The candidate shall be highly motivated, outgoing, and a resourceful team player to complement our team. We offer excellent growth potential for candidates who will be working with a proven team of engineering professionals. This position would be based out of our Warren, NJ headquarters.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for small to large and simple to complex projects in life sciences / pharmaceutical / research, multi-family residential, K-12 and higher education, health care, commercial, and industrial facilities, including building power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, security, IT/AV and other low voltage systems.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors (when appropriate), and other engineers to integrate electrical systems into overall building design. Communicating with other disciplines to ensure project documents are properly coordinated.
  • Perform calculations, simulations, and analyses to size and elect equipment and optimize system performance.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Use computer aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents, including written specifications.
  • Participate in project meetings, offering expertise and guidance to ensure projects meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Respond to client questions and comments, review contractor submittals, and provide clarifications and field observations during construction.
  • Review drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company design and production standards.


Qualifications and Requirements
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain is highly preferred.
  • B.S. In Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • 5+ years building design experience with consulting architectural/engineering firm or design/build contractor designing building power (normal and standby/emergency), lighting, and fire alarm systems; knowledge of communications, security, EV charging, solar power, IT/AV and/or other low voltage systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit); familiarity with engineering analysis tools (SKM, etc.) a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and similar software.
  • Thorough understanding of the architectural and engineering industry, including the applicable building codes, Federal, State, and local laws and regulations that pertain to the industry.
  • Some travel is required to meet project and training requirements.
