Full Job Description
The primary job function of the Electrical Engineer is to plan and design packaging and processing equipment and support equipment with respect to electrical, electronics, pneumatic systems, pc hardware, software and writing operating programs. This individual will interact with other technical specialists and engineers to assure that the equipment meets the customer's needs and that the equipment also meets federal, state and local regulatory guidelines.
Your Responsibilities:
• Researches, designs, evaluates electrical/electronic equipment, processes and systems applying knowledge of engineering principles.
• Specify components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Provides technical assistance and support to manufacturing, sales, service purchasing as directed.
• Conducts in-house QC and checkout of equipment prior to shipment.
• Reads, interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, process flow diagrams and computer generated reports.
• Analyzing data and providing effective and efficient solutions.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis, recommend and implement changes as directed.
Your Profile:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
• Experience ranging from early career (1+ year, pre- or post-graduate) to seasoned professionals (7+ years) in an FDA-regulated food, beverage, chemical, or industrial packaging/processing design environment preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency or mastery of the following applications: Microsoft Office, ERP (preferably SAP), AutoCad, Solidworks or equivalent CADD applications, RSLogix5, 500 & 5000, (SIEMENS S7 and Modicon a plus), RSView Studio ME/SE, RSView32, Intellution FIX32 & iFIX, Wonderware and Panelbuilder.
• Knowledge of motion control and industrial networks: i.e. Ethernet I/P, DeviceNet, ControlNet and Profibus.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.
