Manufacturing Project Engineer - Electrical Systems

Location: Onsite Manufacturing Environment
Travel: Up to 10% (Domestic and International - Canada & Mexico)
Schedule: Full-Time
Duration: Long-Term Contract Opportunity



We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Project Engineer to support equipment installation, facility upgrades, and manufacturing projects within a fast-paced production environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedules, budgets, and technical requirements.
  • Develop project scopes of work, bid packages, and detailed project specifications.
  • Review technical drawings and engineering documentation, providing feedback and recommending design improvements.
  • Evaluate industrial electrical power systems and infrastructure requirements.
  • Ensure equipment and facility compliance with applicable local, state, and national electrical and safety codes.
  • Partner with third-party safety compliance contractors to support project execution and validation.
  • Evaluate power distribution systems, breaker sizing, amp draw calculations, SCCR requirements, and panel loading.
  • Specify and confirm electrical components for manufacturing and industrial equipment.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, construction management, equipment suppliers, and contractors to achieve project milestones.
  • Coordinate equipment installation activities in both greenfield and brownfield manufacturing environments.
  • Supervise contractors and installation activities to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Work closely with skilled trades, affiliate companies, equipment manufacturers, and engineering teams during project implementation.
  • Identify project risks and develop countermeasures to prevent delays and support successful project completion.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects while maintaining strong communication and project documentation.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Trade Certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience developing bid specifications and managing contractor negotiations.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience reviewing and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with industrial power distribution and electrical system design.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Previous Toyota manufacturing or project experience.
  • Automotive paint process experience.
  • AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Ability to understand and calculate utility costs.
  • Understanding of PLC operation and troubleshooting, including:
    • Toyopuc
    • Omron
    • Allen-Bradley
  • Understanding of industrial communication networks, including:
    • FLNet
    • Ethernet/IP
  • Understanding of OT/IT networking concepts.
  • NFPA 70E and NFPA 77 knowledge.
  • OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 certification.

Work Environment
  • 100% onsite manufacturing environment.
  • Local candidates strongly preferred.
  • Occasional travel (up to 10%) to support project activities at manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
